“Give a man a fish, he will eat for a day, teach a man to fish, he will eat forever.” We want our clients to learn how to fish. An end goal is sustainable self-coaching/management – aptitude, self-regulation, and confidence in handling a variety of issues. The foundation of the coaching experience is based on leadership best practices. As these leadership concepts are modeled in the actual coaching process, clients learn to self-observe, -correct, -manage, and -generate. They develop self-sufficiency and the ability to self-coach. Proficiency in these abilities improves clients’ careers – increasing the quality of their decision-making, relationships, and professional direction.
“I started working with Heidi about 18 months into my tenure as CEO, and at first it felt like a bit of an indulgence but I soon realized it was essential to my growth as a leader. In the early days, she put a variety of concepts and tools in my path and they are things I go back to again and again. Now I use the time to problem solve, “unpack” my current challenges, and find a way to move forward on complex situations.”

We support ongoing attention and focus on Leadership, not necessarily ongoing dependence. Many clients “graduate” from coaching and enter into “maintenance”. Maintenance keeps attention and accountability on leadership and prevents clients from reverting back to the tactical minutiae of everyday business. In a maintenance coaching relationship, meetings are less frequent and intensly focused on the strategic leadership view.
Business Roles
We work with Business Leaders – executive level to individual contributors. Our clients are consistently in key leadership roles within the organization, although not necessarily in management.
- Executive Leadership Level
- Mid-Management/Leadership Level
- Individual Leader/Contributor Level
Position titles have included but are not limited to: Business Owner, President, VP, EVP, CEO, CFO, COO, Director of Sales/Operations/HR/Finance, Principal Engineer, Team Manager, Team Lead, Sales Rep, Account Manager, Sales Manager, Operations Manager, Marketing Manager, Product Manager, Supervisor, Accounting Manager, Customer Service, and Dean.
Industries
We have found “the industry” makes absolutely no difference. We have successfully worked in a wide variety of industries, including: professional services, insurance, medical & healthcare; high-tech products, furniture, manufacturing, sales, and many others. The industry is irrelevant – coaching/leadership is about people and people-related issues within the given industry.
Topics:
Our coaching focuses on leadership and leadership-related topics. The agenda is client-driven and typically centers around people-related topics, including:

- levels of engagement,
- influencing,
- critical thinking,

- “how to say things so people hear you”.
